GEORGE EDWARD MILES

George Edward Miles was called home to rest on September 5, 2019. He was born on May 22, 1950 to the late George E. Miles, and Annie E. Miles. He was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and graduated from Mary N. Smith in 1968. George held numeous jobs which included American Original Seafood, Perdue Farms, Tyson Foods, Acme Grocery, Food Lion, Substitute teacher for Accomack County, President of Neighborhood Crime Watch and Town Council of Onancock.

He loved talking to his nieces and nephews giving them advice to steer them in the right direction. His memory was excellent and could tell you everyone’s age and date of birth. He loved to quote the “66” books of the Bible and all “50” states in alphabetical order. He was a member of Glorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in his latter days.

George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jerry Lee Miles and Elwood E. Miles, Sr. and a special cousin: Harry Thomas Matthews.

He leaves to cherish loving memories, three nieces: Deborah Miles, Leslie (Keith) Godwin and Latoya Miles; nephews: Elwood E. Miles, Jr. Jeremy Miles and Travis Brown; sister-in-law, Betty Miles; special cousin: Carlton Smith; special friend: Kathy Harmon and a host of other relatives and friends.
