GEORGE FRAZIER WHARTON

George Frazier Wharton was born July 2, 1952 to Essie Rowe and the late George Wharton. He departed this life on December 28, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital, in Baltimore, MD.

He received his education in the Accomack County Public School System and later moved to Philadelphia, PA and resided for some years. After returning to Virginia, George attended and completed Hospice Care and Nursing Assistant training at the Eastern Shore Community College. George was a very lively person and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved fashion and if you knew him you would always find him at his best when it came to dressing.

He later moved to Baltimore, MD and began working for the Maryland Department of Transportation until his health prevented him from doing so.

George married the love of his life, Gladys Parker in 2008. He loved all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Shanay Pitts, father, George Wharton and brother, Larry Rowe Ayers.

He leaves to mourn his memories: wife, Gladys Wharton of Baltimore, MD; mother, Essie Rowe of Baltimore, MD; sons: Frazier Lewis of Cameron, TX, Latrell Davis, George (Davon) Wharton, Isaiah (Brill) Wharton of VA and Keith Jacobs of Baltimore, MD; daughters: Jill Gordon of Philadelphia, PA, Bridget Marable of Baltimore, MD, Nakia Wharton of Middleton, DE, Tara Davis of Alexandria, VA, Danielle Wharton of Melfa, VA and Jamila Wharton of Middleton, DE; brothers: Joseph Rowe of California and Ronnie Rowe of DE; sisters: Vivian Brunson of Arizonia, Mercedes Wharton of New York and Avonne Bassfield of VA; sister-in-laws, Rochelle Rowe of DE, Violet Vinson, Diane Chance and Poland Dee of Baltimore, MD; 29 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 goddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
