GENEVA GIDDENS

GENEVA (GINNY) GIDDENS, 74, departed this life peacefully, to eternal rest on Sunday, October 19, 2014 in Onancock, VA.

Geneva was born August 30, 1940, to the Late Woody B, and Gayratha (Gay) Giddens and received her education in the Accomack County Schools. She lived a good life and in her middle aged years took a ride on the wild side and rode motorcycles with members of Rated X. Geneva loved the Lord, gave her life to him, and joined Gospel Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Lewis Brim. Geneva loved sports especially softball where she played, coached and traveled all over the East Coast with her teams. She loved people and would always find a way to light up the room, and put a smile on your face with a laugh in your spirit with some of the things she would do and say.

Geneva leaves to cherish her sweet memories: a daughter Phyllis Blair of Sterling, VA, a son Albert Lee Giddens of Parksley VA, and her neice Valerie Simpkins of Onancock, VA, four grandchildren: Toby Blair of High Point, NC, Shantell Bogues of Killeen, TX, Vielda (Cookie) Robinson of Charlestown, WV, and Shintina Garris of Newport News, VA, twelve great-grandchildren, five living siblings: brother, William Giddens, four sisters: Rosie Simpkins, Leana (Frances) Smith, Goldie Griffin, (all of Accomac, VA) and Flossie Boggs of Greenwood, DE. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ivan and Clifton Giddens, three brothers: Leroy, Elwood, and Sammy Giddens. Geneva leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. Rest In Heaven Geneva, we love you and we will miss you dearly.
