LATISHA RENEE KENNEY

LaTisha Renee’ Kenney was born August 17, 1980 in Salisbury, MD and departed this life on January 15, 2021 at 5:40AM at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD. She was the daughter of Leontyne DeShields Beaty and the late Wayne Tyler, Sr. EDUCATION/TRAINING: LaTisha received her elementary and High School education in the Wicomico County School system and last year in Accomack County Virginia, graduating from Nandua High School in Onley, VA. She went on to receive her certification for Child Care from Mardela Senior High School in Mardela Springs, MD. LaTisha loved children and would babysit, or watch, anybody’s children all year-round.

PROFESSION: She was a manager at Taco Bell in Salisbury, MD until her health failed from Lupus.

FAITH: LaTisha received Christ as her Lord and Savior in 2010 as well as being baptized. Tish was very active in church. She was a member of Mt. Nebo UMC in Columbia, DE. where she was a Trustee Aide, Vice president for Mt. Nebo UM Women, photographer for the church/Vacation Bible School, choir member of the Mt. Nebo/John Wesley Young Adult Choir and the “Voices of Praise”. She became a Lay Minister under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. George B. Moody. and delivered her first sermon at John Wesley UMC in Mardela Springs, MD. She also served and volunteered in the Mt. Nebo Soup Kitchen. LaTisha was a whiz at math and loved art, drawing, poetry, and music as it was dear to her heart as well.

FAREWELL: She leaves to cherish her memories: mother: Leontyne DeShields Beaty, son Raekwon Leon Shelton DeShields, and daughter Shay’La Nicole Kenney; grandmothers Hannah DeShields, and Rose Tyler; brothers: DeSean DeShields (Kelly), Wayne Tyler Jr. (Gina), Eugene Beaty III, and Terrance Townsend; sisters: Nicole Beaty White (Brian), Bonita Tyler-Brown (Jullian/Jodi); four aunts: Sharina Duffy (Winfield) and Sheila Washington, Pastor Wanda Nichols and Arlene Purnell; uncles Darrius DeShields and Myron Strand; a special cousin, Allen James Holbrook; mother-in-law Vanessa Moore; ex-husband DeShay Kenney (An); sister-in-law Yolanda Brooks (Keytwan) and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Wayne Tyler Sr., step-father Eugene Beaty Jr., grandfathers Leon DeShields and William Tyler, uncle, Apostle Govan Snead, and first cousin Shelton Holbrook.
