HAMPTON LEE TAYLOR, SR.

Hampton Lee Taylor, Sr. better known as Gabe, departed this life peacefully on April 12, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Wattsville, VA to Doretha Savage Taylor Wilcox on May 25, 1951. He attended the public schools of Accomack County.At the age of sixteen he joined the US Army and served for four years.

Hampton joined Wattsville Methodist Church in Wattsville, VA under the guidance of Rev.Barclay at an early age. While there he sang on the Junior Choir and served on the Usher Boardbut later moved to Philadelphia and was affiliated with a church there.

He enjoyed working with and helping other Veterans and friends by assisting them with theirVeterans benefits. When Hampton came home, he would visit family and friends traveling fromhouse to house with his funny and talkative spirit.Hampton leaves to cherish his: mother, Doretha Wilcox of Wattsville, VA, three children, Lakeshia Taylor, Hampton Taylor, Jr., and Corey Taylor all of Capital Heights, MD, one sister Yvette Wilson of Gaithersburg, MD, one brother, Gregory Taylor of Wattsville, VA, one adopted sister, Quiana Wilcox of Wattsville, VA, one adopted brother, Kente Wilcox of Wattsville, VA,five nieces one nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
