About

Williams & Wharton Funeral Home is a family – operated business, founded by Edgar K. Wharton over 60 years ago. In 1950, Edgar became a licensed embalmer in Virginia and Maryland. He and his business partner, Samuel Savage, operated two mortuaries in Accomac and New Church, VA for over 26 years.

During the funeral home’s early years and throughout the decades, Edward Handy and Oscar Joynes worked as attendants.

Later, his son, Keith Wharton, and son-in-law, Jimmie Williams, joined the business as licensed morticians.

Today, Jimmie and Sandra Williams proudly continue to serve the community.
