WILBERT D. DIX

WILBERT D. DIX was born to the late William and Mary Dix on September 8, 1925 and departed this life on November 25, 2015. He was educated in the Accomack County Public Schools and graduated from Mary N. Smith High.

Wilbert enlisted in the US Army and graduated from North Carolina A&T University and was employed at R. C. Evans in Onley, VA until his retirement. After retiring, he took on a part time job, and was well known as the “Trash Man”. He would talk to his clients every week and they looked forward to seeing him. Wilbert accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of St. Luke A. M. E. but later became a member of Mt. Zion Holiness Church in Onancock, VA (Bayside) where he was ordained as Deacon. There he was “Faithful” and devoted to the Ministry.

He married the love of his life, Blanche A. Dix, in 1969.

Other than his wife, Blanche A. Dix of 46 years, he leaves loving memories to: one sister, Emily Dix of Gargatha, VA, one sister-n-law, Margaret Poole of Salisbury, MD, one brother-in-law, Herman Pettit of Parksley, VA and one daughter, Debbie Crowson of Accomac, VA., god-daughter, Marilyn Williams of Fairview, VA, and a grand hosts of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
