God’s Creation

DAPHER ROGERS, the beloved daughter of the late William Dixon and Mary Lois Giddins Rogers was born in Painter, Virginia on 15 July, 1944. THE DAY THE LORD REACHED DOWN INTO HIS EARTHLY GARDEN AND PLUCKED A UNIQUE FLOWER It was God's desire, in His Holy Wisdom, that this dear life should end on Thursday evening Sept 13, 2012 at 11:30 pm in Nassawadox, Virginia. She became a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1980 in Painter, Virginia.She was reared in the area of her birth and was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. She worked all of her adult life in the poultry industry until she retired.

OUR ANGEL

"Aunt Dap" as she was known, had a warm, caring funny and loving personality. Who enjoyed being around her family and friend's. One of her favorite things she loved to do was watching her nieces and nephews. Preceding her death were her father, William D. Rogers, and her mother, Mary L. Rogers, two sisters Jeannette Rogers & Laura Mae Rogers, three brothers, John William Rogers, Elsworth Rogers, and Herman Vincent Rogers and one niece Claudia Maxine Rogers. Left to hold dear memories of Dapher Rogers are: One daughter Wanda Rebecca (Rogers) Hardy and, one son in law Tyrone Hardy, three grandchildren Kenisha, Aisha, and Aneesa Hardy of Virginia Beach, One sister Ethel Sturgis of Virginia, Three brothers, Dallas Rogers of North Carolina, Phillip and Charlie Rogers of Virginia. One brother in law Purnell Sturgis of Virginia, One sister in law Mercie Rogers of Virginia, One aunt Naomi Smith of Chesapeake, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
