ADELE WIGGINS WILSON

In the wisdom and providence of God, our beloved grandmother and aunt, Adele Wiggins Wilson passed away quietly on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was the youngest child of the late William and Sarah Wiggins. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Affectionately know to her husband as “Dellie”, she was born February 13, 1917 in Nansemond County, Virginia. She met the late Edward Wilson and on February 14th, Valentine’s Day, they were married. This union lasted over forty-five years until his passing.

In her youth, she was converted, baptized, and joined the Corinth Chapel Congregational Christian Church. Upon moving to New Jersey, she joined the Union Baptist Church of Montclair. She resided in New Jersey until she relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to live with her niece, Maye Jones.

Dell worked for many years and retired from a doll factory where she made porcelain eyes for doll babies. Some time later, she became a resident of the Simpson House Assisted Living Facility in Philadelphia.

Adele leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, a loving granddaughter, Debbie Parks, of Accomac, Virginia; a faithful and devoted niece, Maye Jones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; many great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and friends.
